Video Modeling Using AT

Video Modeling
The Reeldirector video app, available on iPhone, proved to be a convenient and effective tool for creating a useful and timely video for educational purposes. Our group devised an idea to demonstrate our learning, cooperatively organized and delegated the task into chunks, collaborated on script writing, role played and  produced a video explaining our chosen topic. I think video modeling would be a very effective classroom tool for students to use to support their learning utilizing various skills from Bloom's Taxonomy. I feel video modeling could be used by both individual students and small groups alike across the curriculum allowing them to demonstrate their learning.  For example, reluctant writers could create a book review, science report or any project by creating a video to show their learning in that subject.

As well, video modeling could be used by teachers to create instructional videos for reluctant readers by having selected students model appropriate behaviours or role play to demonstrate curriculum concepts or abstract ideas in social studies, math, science, health, etc. to show to other students who have difficulty reading texts.  The Pictello app is another effective tool for video modeling.
